Alexandra Squire Blends More Than Just Color: How One Woman Found a Way to Follow Her Passion While Raising a Family

Alexandra Squire is an Abstract contemporary painter and artist based in Bethesda, MD. She is famous for her signature style of pairing vibrant colors with muted tones to create a beautiful piece that is both simple and deceivingly complex.

Alexandra is a self-taught and instinctual artist. Since childhood, she has had a keen interest in creating new creative things. She never gave up on painting even though she took a more traditional path in school. After earning her MBA in Washington, D.C., Alexandra studied under artist Linda Cafritz. In later years, she worked in media and moved around the country. Eventually, when Alexandra and her husband settled down in D.C she took the opportunity to settle down and commit herself fully to her craft.

Alexandra tends to focus on blending and layering in all of her work. This helps her to create an artwork that is quite rich in color. And depth with palettes that are quite unexpected. According to Alexandra, every work of hers is a metaphor. She always likes to create a hidden meaning through her artwork. Which makes her artwork more interesting in the eyes of the public. “A rich and full life, like art, is built upon many layers and the ways. Which our lives blend together.” Says Alexandra. If you notice her artwork carefully you, will see how she focuses on all five senses when she creates, giving viewers opportunities to consider her work from various perspectives. We know how the power of minimalist art comes from its ability to be open to interpretation.

“My goal is that viewers and collectors will see this as a metaphor.  I have found the richness in life, like art, comes from the many layers we add and the many ways in which our lives blend together,” adds Alexandra. Alexandra work has been exhibite in several galleries regionally and nationally. And her paintings are also a part of private and corporate collections throughout the United States. Her unique work which is both immersive and thoughtful attracts collectors to her work. Therefore, Alexandra’s lifetime of studying abstract art empowers her to take risks and thoughtfully break the rules when art calls for it.

Alexandra still has a lot more talent to express and many parts of her individuality she wishes to explore through art. If you want to know more about Alexandra Squire and her fine artwork you can check out her social media handle (link down below)
