Catherine Fountain releases new book titled The Itty Bitty Princess inspired by her daughter.

Catherine Fountain was born on October 8th, 1982, and raised in Conyers, Georgia. A rural city outside of Atlanta, by her mother, Beth Cate. Beth very early on instilled a love of fairy tales and mythological creatures. Some of Catherine’s earliest memories are of decorating her room with her mom with unicorns and fairy dust. As an only child, she and her mother spent a great deal of time together navigating life. She always wanted a bigger family and to have a lot of brothers and sisters. However, her parents could not maintain a healthy and functional relationship and soon split to go their separate ways. Therefore, Catherine spent most of her childhood building lifelong. Solid relationships with the same neighborhood kids and classmates through high school.

In 2001, she graduated from Heritage High School. She went on to graduate from Mercer University with honors attaining a Bachelor of Science in both Special Education and Early Childhood Education in 2006. Then continued her certifications in TESOL. An acronym that stands for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and in TSS. Which stands for Teacher Support System that mentors new teachers entering the field of Education. Catherine often found the most joy while reading to her students as a teacher. Often students would ask her to make up her own story. And she’d always go back to a story she invented in her mind as a little girl about an Itty-bitty princess that went on many adventures despite her small size. In Catherine’s opinion, instilling a love for reading in pre-readers and nonreaders was the most fulfilling job anyone could ever ask for.

After establishing her career as an elementary teacher, Catherine decided it was time to settle down and start her own family. Her desire for a big family was as strong as ever, and she couldn’t wait to begin the many adventures of motherhood. However, God had other plans. After 13 years of infertility and a failed marriage, Catherine, now single and childless, thought it would be beneficial to explore other avenues and talents in her life. Often, she would journal and write poetry as she weathered the storms of miscarriages, failed fertility treatments, disappointments, infidelity, and eventually divorce. Throughout her teens and adulthood, writing was always a form of comfort for her in addition to being an outlet.

In 2018 she met and fell in love with the love of her life, her now-husband Tony M. Fountain, aka TMF Precha. At the time, he was living in Gray, Georgia, raising two beautiful children alone, and had gone through many of the same misfortunes in life as Catherine had.

He was educated, an entrepreneur, an excellent father, family-oriented, level-headed, a gentleman, and to say the least, he was absolutely everything Catherine had always been looking for in a partner. After a year of dating long-distance, they decided to move in together. A month later, Catherine got the shock of her life. The infertile teacher and writer found out she was pregnant. Soon, they were married and looking forward to welcoming their miracle baby. In April 2020, Catherine had a daughter named Hadley Elizabeth Fountain right after the pandemic hit. Then, seven months later, Catherine received the second shock of her life and found out she’d soon be welcoming a son, Thomas Asher Fountain, in August 2021.

Within three years, Catherine became a wife, mother of 4 children, and a teacher at an urban city school in Macon, Georgia. Catherine struggled to balance it all and wanted to stay home with the children she’d waited on for so long. When Hadley was just six months old, she began picking up books and enjoying her mother reading to her. Fascinated by this, Catherine would often read to Hadley at night. And it became a source of comfort to her toddler. When she would have big feelings about things she could not yet communicate. Catherine shared how Hadley loved books with her husband when he.

A published author, suggested she try to write her own book for Hadley one day. This gave Catherine an idea. What if she brought the Itty-bitty princess to life to teach children how to interact with each other and to manage their big feelings.

While being read to by their caretakers? During the pandemic and inspired by her daughter’s development and personality, Catherine wrote her first book, “The Itty-bitty Princess.”

The moment she showed her book to Hadley (2 years old), her eyes lit with excitement. Catherine knew immediately that her calling was to be an author of children’s books. She is currently working on her next book with her husband, Tony M. Fountain. Stay tuned for more projects from this new author!
