Dax showcases ‘Depression’ in new song

Canadian rapper, singer, and songwriter Dax shares a flashback on his personal life, in the new country single ‘Depression’.

Dax, born Daniel Nwosu Jr of African descent, grew up in Canada’s capital city Ottawa. Shortly after he migrated to Wichita, he attended Newman University, a private Roman Catholic institution. Previously taking part in the school’s basketball team activities, Daniel crafted a pleasing poem on a sporting bus trip.

Following the release of his tape ‘2pac Reincarnation’ and music video ‘Cash Me Outside’ in 2017, Dax rose to prominence. Coming after was his debut EP ‘It’s Different Now’ the succeeding year. His tour with Tech N9ne and a feature from Hopsin also followed in 2019.

By 2020, Dax dished out a follow-up 7-track extended play, ‘I’ll Say It For You,’ receiving favorable evaluations and remarks. The fourth song being ‘Dear God’, has a stockpile of over fifty (50) million YouTube views on its accompanying visual. Months later, the Nigerian-native rap act (Dax), released ‘Faster’ and ‘I don’t want another sorry’ alongside Trippie Redd.

In 2021, a ‘Dear God’ follow-up single titled ‘Child of God’, made its way to his fans in July. Serving as a thankful message to God, Dax showcased the biblical crucifixion of Jesus (a first-century Jewish preacher) in the music video. On the month of October, Living Legends Entertainment put out his debut album ‘Pain Paints Paintings’, enlisting previous singles like ‘40 Days, 40 Nights’ and ‘Propaganda’.

This year, a few singles have been released, and some changes have been made. Dax’s ‘Dear Alcohol’ song portraying misuse of alcohol and its effects peaked at no #28 on Billboard’s US Hot Country Songs chart. It swiftly became a sensation on the Chinese short-form video platform TikTok, garnering over 190 million views. Subsequent to the song’s success, Dax signed with Columbia, a division of Sony Music Entertainment.

Being an independent artiste since inception, he dropped his first-ever major label release ‘Depression’ a few weeks ago. Produced by his long-time friend and partner Lex Nour, the 4-minute Country song depicts memories of his personal life, as well as emotions and struggles. Dax’s net worth is estimated at $2 million.
