Drank Babies 4Life by DC2Trill: A Solid, Laid-Back Ride with Room for Growth

Drank Babies 4Life album cover – DC2Trill.

Introduction

Drank Babies 4Life by DC2Trill is a mellow album with cool beats and catchy hooks. 17 songs in the album offer a relaxing soundscape for hip-hop fans. It doesn’t break new ground, but it sustains a level of intensity at its best at all times.

DRNKBBY Anthem

From the first track, “DRNKBBY Anthem (Intro)”, DC2Trill sets a relaxed, confident atmosphere with the lyrics. On “I Got That Too” featuring Teezo Touchdown, the pace accelerates a little. The feature introduces a little diversity to the track. In fact, the artist has also collaborated with a variety of performers, including Rio Da Yung OG and Lil Yachty throughout the album.

The beat is relentless, but the album doesn’t have any actual surprises.  Most of the songs speak about success, partying, and confidence in oneself. As a result, the songs don’t mature in terms of lyrics, and the album becomes repetitive in terms of sound and theme.

The production is powerful but doesn’t challenge. By midway through, it feels repetitive. There is familiarity with each and every single tune, which makes it hard to sustain full interest in all 17 songs.

Perfection

But for a feel-good album, Drank Babies 4Life is perfect. There’s a silky flow in DC2Trill’s rap, and his verses are easy to follow. There are enough catchy moments in the album to make anyone stop and listen. It’s good for a casual weekend listen but without the staying power of albums of hip-hop albums that elevate the genre.
