NoLay in 2005, grabbed the attention of major labels when she released NoLay Drops her first ever solo track “Unorthodox Daughter“, under exclusive license to Warner Bros in print679 Recordings. “Unorthodox Daughter” being the 7th track off NoLay Drops the Vice & 679 compilation album “Run the Road“; was later broadcasted on TV and made it to MTV‘s Hip Hop Chart.
Having an impressive portfolio of press to date, NoLay has featured in publications such as I.D Mag and New York Times. Trace Urban also identified her — tagging NoLay as one of fifty of the most influential black women worldwide, alongside American singer Eryka Badu and English actress Thandie Newton.
As at now, ‘digitally’, NoLay has released three (3) albums. The first — “Flowcaine“, released in 2012; second — live album “This Woman” in 2017 and “Kalas” released in (Jan. 15) this year.
“Gang Shit” makes the third list of her 2021 7-track Hip-hop/Rap album “Kalas“.
