San Francisco rapper and singer-songwriter Son of Paper (SOP), refers to himself as ‘MR. CHINATOWN’ in a new song.
Born Kyle Jae Shin from the ancestry of China and Korea, he attains the 20th century RnB groove, using top-notch lyricism. Over the years, Kyle has managed to display his music at numerous gigs, institutions, and nationwide. In 2016, Jae Shin commenced his musical career with a SoundCloud-exclusive self-titled mixtape.
Three years later, Son Of Paper put out his very first album ‘Paper Mache’ — a 9-track piece co-starred by four appearances. Kyle’s stage moniker derives from the term “Paper Daughter.” Given to his great grandparents, it represents a Chinese that illegally immigrated to the States.
Paying homage to ancient elders, Son Of Paper’s new rap single ‘MR. CHINATOWN’, brings Chinese-American customs to the mainstream. ‘MR. CHINATOWN’ features vocals from DRAGON OF THE WEST (also known as Jason Wu).
