Dr. Suzanne Soliman is a reputed pharmacist who got her PharmD from Illinois University located in Chicago back in 2004. After this, she pursued a residency in primary care at Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy. She also did a teaching fellowship program at the University of Illinois, Chicago College of Medicine. She was a clinical pharmacist, National Field Team Educator, and a Medical Science Liaison prior to working as an Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy.  In the latest news, she worked as an Associate Dean at Touro College of Pharmacy New York and also as an owner of an Independent Pharmacy.

She has around 100 publications where she presents the topics of pharmacy, problems faced by women and parenting. Dr. Soliman turned her life around when she opened the Pharmacist Moms Group back in 2017. It was inspired by her wish of attaining a better work-life balance. Currently, it is the largest group of women pharmacists’ network with over 35,000 members in the United States. The Group aims to provide support to the women, provide important resources. This group is hugely successful because everyone is a pharmacist and a mother who understands the issues of work-life balance. Thus, they are all like-minded.

“I always loved working as a pharmacist, but I often worked nights and weekends and as a result missed activities and occasions for my children who had their sports held in the evening or on the weekends. I knew I loved my job and had eight years of education & training, and that I probably wasn’t the only pharmacist to feel this way about work/life balance. So one evening I logged into Facebook to find other pharmacists.

Who were potentially struggling with work-life balance.”, said Dr. Soliman, on being asked about what inspired her to make the women pharmacist group. The evening she started this group, she has not the slightest idea of how many revolutions it was about to bring forth in the future. They acquired 1000 members within just a month and after 3 years. It scaled up to 35,000. This is currently the largest and most active group of women pharmacists in the entire Country.
