Corporate culture is the shared values, traditions, beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors within an organization. With record-breaking employee attrition, disengagement, and “quiet quitting,” today, more than ever, a strong culture that inspires human connection, creates a sense of purpose, and promotes employee engagement and commitment is a necessity. A simple internet search on the subject of employee engagement and culture reveals a myriad of published studies validating impressive correlations between high levels of employee performance relative to the health of the organizational culture. Higher levels of performance naturally create greater customer satisfaction, greater competitive differentiation, and in turn, better business results.
While business leaders are becoming more aware of the necessity to promote and invest in a compelling corporate culture to improve business outcomes, most have not yet developed the know-how or internal expertise to nurture and cultivate it successfully. It has been pioneers, like Adrianne Court Petruska, who have led the way by inspiring novel concepts that business leaders globally can leverage to cultivate corporate culture. It is the deliberate practice of “thinking,” “acting,” and “interacting.” Court explains these three elements as follows:
- THINKING – This is the foundational building block for conscious culture. It is an organization’s culture codified and expressed explicitly in written words.
- ACTING – The operational building block for conscious culture. It is actions and behaviors explicitly exemplifying and reinforcing the culture within an organization.
- INTERACTING – It is culture manifested. It is the bond employees, customers, and the community make with the organization because of the experiences and interactions they have with the organization.
To more broadly share the concepts of conscious culture, Court is co-authoring a book on the subject to promote conscious culture in organizations while inspiring uncommon business results. She developed and promoted the conscious culture concept through her talks and discussions at various prominent seminars and forums throughout her career. She emphasizes that conscious corporate culture is a necessity rather than a choice in the modern world for retaining talented employees while improving productivity and profits.
Court speaks and leads discussions on academic and professional platforms regarding human resource trends and best industry practices. She is sought-after to contribute her concepts and leadership experience, being interviewed and quoted in many publications and books, including Forbes, InformationWeek, Purpose Ignited, How Inspiring Leaders Unleash Passion by Alise Cortex, and Life in the Leadership Lane, Moving Leaders Inspire and Change the Workplace by Bruce W. Waller.
