On Pamela Hopkins’ latest release ‘Burn It Down’, the 3-minute folk offering depicts a tale of a woman who gets cheated on. She then obtains the return of her self-worth and detaches herself from the relationship. It also reveals the protagonist wants to move on with a fresh start and doesn’t want payback. Co-written by Dave Lenahan, Scott Barrier and herself, the song further expresses this relieving release with Hopkins’ fierce lyricism and vocals.
According to Pamela Hopkins, the track is an ode for finding strength in a difficult situation. “It’s inspired by a real-life event, though I can’t delve into the personal details out of respect for those involved. Let’s just say, the idea for this song came from a close person’s experience” quotes the singer.
