The tough times brought about by the global pandemic infused our lives with emotional turmoil and trauma along with disrupting our regular routines. However, music doesn’t care for time, challenges, or boundaries to bloom. Even in these harrowing times, rapper-producer duo YOUNGMAN and Celestaphone managed to produce and release their debut album titled A YEAR OF OCTOBERS.
The artist behind the alter-ego is MC Paul Barman. The creative alter-ego was born out of a conversation that had with the late rapper MF DOOM.
Celestaphone is a Californian music producer. In December 2019, he started working with YOUNGMAN for their debut collaborative album A YEAR OF OCTOBERS.
How A YEAR OF OCTOBERS Stands out From Conventional Music
Approximately 137 million songs are released every year. So to stand out and strike a chord with music enthusiasts, an artist needs to bring more to the table, and that’s exactly what A YEAR OF OCTOBERS does for the music community.
The tantalizing album is a one-of-a-kind fusion of punk and hip-hop, offering the best of both genres. The rapper-producer YOUNGMAN and Celestaphone channeled their belief in the healing power of music, especially in times of uncertainty and emotional anguish.
Challenges YOUNGMAN and Celestaphone Faced While Recording A YEAR OF OCTOBERS
The entire album was record during the peak of the Covid-19 global pandemic. This made the whole process even more challenging. Along with the emotional distress and uncertainty that we all were filled with, the contagious nature of the virus added to the hurdles of recording.
The biggest problem that they faced was recording remotely owing to travel and gathering restrictions.
To record the album, YOUNGMAN and Celestaphone used the help of portable computers equipped with a performance mic and interface in order to record at remote, non-studio locations.
They won against the challenges that the deadly virus break-out threw at them and released their first album with a bang. The songs in the album are nothing less than a treat to your ears, and if you are into fast-paced, electrifying hip-hop punk genre fusions, you are definitely going to love every note of each song.
YOUNGMAN and Celestaphone both aspire to bring together a fresh genre of music. They do not believe in following trends. Instead, they make their own, and that’s exactly what made them take up the unconventional path of fusing two popular music styles. Their album A YEAR OF OCTOBERS is a glimpse into their colossal potential and talent and has raised the bar for upcoming artists way higher.
