For URIEL BRG, music has always been a mirror reflecting his growth, challenges, and breakthroughs. Now, with his single OUTTA HERE under GRAMMY consideration in the Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals category, that mirror shines brighter than ever.

“It honestly feels like a dream come true,” Uriel says. “Running my own ‘For Your GRAMMY Consideration’ campaign is something I used to imagine. Now it’s real, and that’s incredibly rewarding.”

The song itself captures that sentiment, the tension between frustration and freedom. Written during a period of deep uncertainty, “OUTTA HERE” channels the feeling of being trapped by doubt yet determined to rise above it. It’s equal parts introspection and empowerment. “At its core, the song is about transcending limits, not running away from reality, but elevating beyond it,” he explains. “When you’re finally aligned with your purpose, you begin to realize that nothing is truly impossible if you’re in the right frequency.”

Originally drafted in 2019 as a demo titled “Blue,” the idea stayed dormant for years until the right moment arrived. Uriel saw that moment this year as he submitted the project for GRAMMY consideration. Reuniting with producer Yan Perchuk, he transformed the skeleton of the old demo into a multilayered composition filled with life and color.

The finished version features an impressive lineup of musicians. The Grammy-winning Ruslan Sirota on piano and keys, Roy Kariok on guitar, Chaun Horton on drums, and Benjamin Shepherd on bass. Each instrumental element was recorded live, giving the song the authentic warmth of a performance rather than a programmed track. The resulting sound is both cinematic and deeply human, a fusion of Contemporary Jazz, Pop, and Latin influence.

URIEL BRG infused “OUTTA HERE” with layers of inspiration that bridge eras and cultures. The melancholic undertones of the classic “Mr. Blue” by The Fleetwoods, when Uriel’s demo version was still known as “Blue.” As the concept evolved, Uriel incorporated subtle Latin elements, a reflection of his Brazilian heritage. His approach also drew from the intricate arrangements of Jacob Collier’s reinterpretation of “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic”, with the instruments inspired by Brandee Younger, and the soulful dynamism of Gilberto Gil’s “Palco,” blending jazz sophistication with heartfelt expression. Lyrically, echoes of “Garota de Ipanema” informed the narrative tone, capturing a sense of longing and frustration seen through a perspective that doesn’t feel sad.

“I wanted to create something that feels alive,” he says.

Adding a visual layer, Brazilian photographer Henrique Augusto shot the accompanying campaign in São Paulo. He incorporated Frutiger Aero-inspired aesthetics that mirror the song’s themes of elevation and renewal.

“It’s about proving to myself that the dream I’ve been chasing all these years is real. OUTTA HERE reminds me that sometimes you have to lose yourself to find the version of you that can finally fly,” he says thoughtfully. “People love to say ‘the sky’s the limit,’ but honestly, it’s not. We’ve already been beyond that! We have touched the moon and stared into an endless universe. So why should we stop at what we can see? To be out of here is to exist in that space beyond fear and expectation,” he finishes.

As Uriel finishes the production of his forthcoming debut album “VIRGINITY,”  a conceptual project he describes as “the soundtrack to an American fraternity movie,” he’s taking time to reflect on what this milestone means.
