With her debut single “Rogue”, rising artist Miriam Armonie makes an unforgettable entrance into the alternative music scene, melding vulnerability, rebellion, and reflection into a sound that feels both timeless and entirely new. The track is an emotional journey through the duality of hope and cynicism, love and detachment, youth and awakening.

Miriam’s relationship with music began long before she stepped into a studio. She recalls being in second grade when her parents gifted her a keyboard for Christmas, something she still keeps today. Under the guidance of her father, a jazz musician with Eritrean influences, she learned to see music as both an art form and an emotional outlet. “I would always hear him playing guitar late at night when he was stressed,” Miriam remembers. “Eventually, I followed his lead, using music as a way to express and process my own experiences and feelings.”

From there, her artistic curiosity flourished. By age 14, she was writing and producing her own songs, spanning genres from rock to R&B and experimental pop. That diversity now defines her ever-evolving musical identity. “I think of myself as a musical chameleon,” she says. “My sound changes with my growth, my experiences, and the emotions I’m exploring.”

“Rogue” captures that philosophy perfectly. The song’s title, derived from a term used to describe elephants who stray from their herd, becomes a metaphor for the human experience of isolation and self-preservation. “Going rogue,” Miriam explains, “represents rebellion and independence, but also a loss of innocence. It’s that tension between protecting your heart and losing the part of you that still believes in love and unity.”

Lyrically, the song pulls from Miriam’s personal upbringing, exploring unstable relationships and the broader disconnection she sees in society today. It’s both deeply personal and universally relatable. “There’s so much tension in the world,” she says. “Rogue is my way of shedding light on the detrimental effects on the individual pursuit of happiness when people stop loving each other.”

The creative process behind “Rogue” was serendipitous. Miriam describes the song as “a gift from God,” written in a single night after hearing the melody in her head while falling asleep. She produced and recorded the demo herself before traveling to Los Angeles to finish the track with engineer Corey Wales, who helped her bring her vision to life. Next, she produced the music video, collaborating with director Julian Joaquin Vasquez and fashion designer Melody Ann Gallant, who designed her custom dress. The result is a moody, cinematic sound and visual, reminiscent of Sade, Janet Jackson, and her biggest inspiration, Harry Styles.

Releasing “Rogue” has been a milestone filled with both challenges and triumphs. As an independent artist, Miriam Armonie navigated the complex process of bringing her vision to life while staying true to her sound and message. “It hasn’t been an easy road,” she shares, “but seeing this song come together exactly as I imagined has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.” The single’s release date, November 4th, carries special meaning as it falls on her father’s birthday, a heartfelt tribute to the man who first inspired her love for music and continues to be one of her biggest influences.

Looking ahead, Miriam is already teasing her next release, “Dark Night Disco,” which will appear alongside “Rogue” on her forthcoming EP, Blue Hour Vol. 1. The project’s primary elements are soft rock-inspired but blend multiple genres and emotions to capture the reflective beauty of the twilight hours it was formed in. Through her music, Miriam invites listeners into a world of self-discovery, emotional honesty, and evolution. “Rogue” is just the beginning of Miriam Armonie’s artistic story.
