UK-based duo Wuzy Bambussy cross genre lines on ‘Late Libation.’ It is the sixth song from the album ‘The Ghost & The Rhythm,’ released 23rd April via Loose Unit Recordings. The track is a hypnotic and cinematic fusion of funk, R&B, and rock, a celebration of perseverance.

Comprised of a producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Nikolai Jones and a singer, Kat Harrison, whose emotive vocalizations make up the core of the duo’s unique sound, Wuzy Bambussy is based in West Country, England. Merging influences of world music, folk, funk, indie, and electronica, the group creates complex soundscapes defying definition. Collaboration between Jones and Harrison started to flourish in 2023. They began showcasing an imaginative alternative pop sound influenced by a dreamy jazz ambience.

Song Review: ‘Late Libation’ is representative of everything that has come to define Wuzy Bambussy’s style of artistry. The sharp bass lines and clear rim shots set up a platform for Harrison to deliver her enthralling vocals before vicious guitar riffs and explosive drum beats carry the song into powerful choruses. This culminates in Kat’s empowering cry of, “Tell the DJ in the station, this is the Bambussy sound.” Her lyrics convey an air of uncertainty and strength, which is also reflected in the contrasting combination of rhythmic grooves and angelic tunes.
